Hubo un tiempo en el que se consideraba que todo estaba cubierto por un fluido elástico, invisible y sin peso que, llenando todo el espacio, servía de transmisor de cualquier tipo de energía. La ausencia de esta sustancia implicaba la asimilación del vacío entre las cosas y por lo tanto de la existencia aislada de cualquier objeto vivo o no vivo. Algo improbable pues si la isla existe es porque algo la tiene aislada.

There was a time when everything was considered to be covered by an elastic, invisible and weightless fluid that filling the entire space served as a transmitter of any type of energy. The absence of this substance implied the assimilation of the void between things and therefore of the isolated existence of any living or non-living object. Something improbable because if the island exists it is because something isolates it.

..el truco está en ajustarlo previamente y poco a poco para que el salto no sea muy pronunciado cuando llegue. El control del tono en los tocadiscos suele ser un fader vertical que tiene por arriba una escala en positivo y por abajo su imagen especular en negativo pasando por el cero que es el que marca el tono natural de las cosas. Las voces se vuelven mas graves cuando se disminuye la velocidad creando un ambiente solemne, como de una situación que se agrava peligrosamente. Es un ritual de paso, de cambios de estado a través del punto cero que funciona como un espejo. Éste juega un papel de límite-frontera pero no en sentido restrictivo pues es mas bien un umbral de transición con el que permitir pasar a la pequeña muerte a través de mi dejando que todo pase y entonces pasar de todo y hacer lo que quiero, que no es otra cosa que hacer lo que quiero y no lo que quiero querer.
dicho así todo esto puede parecer un sin sentido pero se trata de algo tan tangible como deslizar un control hacia arriba y hacia abajo..
