Kirsty P para Casi Baile

Kirsty P lleva casi toda su vida coleccionando música en forma de discos de vinilo. Es su pasión, pero tiene muy claro que esta afición no es incompatible con el actual uso de masivo de la información. Su manera de aproximarse a la música combina las nuevas tecnologías (redes sociales, plataformas de compra-venta, etc.) con una recuperación del tiempo de consumo mas lento y selectivo que implican los discos, un tiempo que hace de filtro para esa sobreinformación a la que estamos expuestos estos días.
Y además cuenta con su “chulo” de vinilos particular, Ed, a quien envía sus listas de deseos..

Ella es de Londres, donde ha vivido siempre y donde la puedes encontrar con regularidad haciendo una de sus eclécticas sesiones. Tiene un estilo personal muy contundente pese a la diversidad de sonidos de los que se nutre y esto es algo que admiramos, un estilo que se manifiesta por si mismo sin ninguna intención de remarcarlo.
Aun así ella reconoce que siempre ha tenido una tendencia muy “leftfield”.

Pero nos parece que la mejor manera de resumir su actitud musical es con esta respuesta tan esclarecedora que nos ha dado cuando le hemos preguntado por su opinión sobre la música actual;

“Hmmmm…. es tan buena hoy como lo ha sido siempre, solo tienes que escarbar un poco.”

Si quieres ver a Kirsty P mezclando sus discos, entre todos los eventos te destacamos el de Edimburgo a finales de este mes de abril. Luego estará en Tirana (Albania) y en Berlín. Y añadimos a nuestra lista de deseos que repita el próximo mes de septiembre en el festival Convenanza, este año de vuelta a Carcassonne!

Kirsty P has spent most of her life collecting music in the form of vinyl records. It is her passion, but she's very clear that this hobby is fully compatible with using of massive data. Her way of approaching music combines new technologies (social networks, buy and sell platforms, etc.) with a recovery of the slower and more selective consumer tempo implied by buying discs, a tempo that works as a filter for this over-information which we are exposed on these days.
And she also has her personal vinyl "pimp", Ed, to whom she sends her wish lists.

She is from London, where she has always lived and where you can find her regularly doing one of her eclectic sessions. She has a very strong personal style despite the diversity of sounds that she uses and this is something we really admire, a style that manifests itself without any intention to emphasize it. 
Even so, she recognizes that she has always had a very "leftfield" tendency.

But we think that the best way to illustrate her musical attitude is with this enlightening answer that she has given us when we asked her about her opinion about current music;

"Hmmmm.... its just as good today as its always been, you just have to dig a little"

If you want to see Kirsty P mixing her records, among all the events we highlight the one from Edinburgh at the end of this month. Then she will be in Tirana (Albania) and in Berlin. And we add Convenanza Festival to our wish list, looking forward to enjoy her music again this year back to Carcassonne!
